1. What are the benefits of using an agency?

Recruiting for yourself can be expensive but we can save you time and money. Just add up the costs of phone calls, advertising, time spent sifting through resumes, interviewing inappropriate candidates, writing position descriptions and reference checking. We believe that your time and money is much better spent working on your own business while we do all the hard work for you.

2. What areas do you specialise in?

Cox Purtell has four specialist divisions – Professional Business Support; Accounting, Credit & Finance; Sales, Marketing & Client Services; and Government & Industry. Our Professional Business Support division recruits across all industries.

3. Do you charge for advertising?

No. The cost of advertising is covered by us, unless a client wishes to specifically brand an advertisement.

4. How long do you spend interviewing candidates?

The average interview takes approximately 45 minutes, however this can differ depending on the role the candidate is being interviewed for.

5. How much information do I need to provide when briefing you?

Our experienced recruitment specialists are trained to source effective and relevant information from our clients. A face-to-face meeting to better understand your needs is always encouraged.

6. How can I get the most from my recruitment specialist?

Communication – regular and open discussion is very much encouraged between recruitment specialists and clients.

7. What happens when candidates are presented to me by the recruitment specialist?

When a recruitment specialist recommends candidates to you, you should proceed to interview as soon as possible. Great candidates are highly sought after but your recruitment specialist works to keep them interested in your role if you can keep the interviewing process moving along.

8. What happens if the candidate does not work out?

If a candidate does not work out for whatever reason within their probationary period, we will refill the role of refund your fee.

9. Where do you advertise?

We use various internet job boards as well as print media to source candidates. We also receive a large number of referrals from our existing clients and candidates.

10. What geographical locations do you service?

We provide staffing solutions across the broader Sydney region, CBD and suburbs.

11. How much will a temporary staff member cost me?

The cost of temporary staff varies based on the skills you require the candidate to possess. An overview of our fees is outlined in our pricing section.

12. How long can I have a temporary staff member for?

There is a minimum callout of 4 hours for temporary staff. You can take a temp on from a ½ a day assignment to a long-term assignment.

13. How are candidates skills tested?

Testing can be tailored to meet our clients’ needs but the standard tests we offer include data entry, typing and specific computer package testing such as Microsoft Word.

14. What happens if a temporary candidate does not work out?

We check in with all our clients and in the first 4 hours of an assignment to ensure you are happy with the calibre of candidate. Temporary assignments are also covered by our 4-hour/1 day guarantee, details of which can be found in our Terms of Business.

15. Do we get charged for public holidays and annual leave?

No, you are only charged for the hours the temporary staff member works.
