The Role

This is a full function accounting role where you can utilise all the skills you have learned in your studies, plus gain new skills under the tutelage of a seasoned Finance Manger. You will operate as a full function Technical Accounts Officer, where you will contribute to the various regulatory compliance, supporting the Finance Manager and business. Your duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Quarterly and Annual GAAP accounts
  • Have full ownership of the AP/AR operation for Australia
  • High level bank reconciliations
  • Assist with monthly reporting for local taxes
  • Allocate cash from premiums and claims to underwriting system
  • Production of APRA forms and submissions
  • Statutory reporting where required
  • Ad Hoc projects as the business grows

The Candidate

The successful applicant for this role will meet most, if not all of the following criteria:

  • Part or fully CA/CPA qualified
  • Demonstrable history of AP/AR in a previous role
  • Understanding of local regulatory requirements
  • Insurance industry experience is desirable
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Track record of process improvement
  • Strong attention to detail
