I'm Becky Gibson, a Recruitment Consultant at Cox Purtell, specialising in permanent business support roles across associations, not-for-profits, and government.

I've spent the last ten years in recruitment — which I came into a little by chance. I signed up to an agency as a job-seeker, was offered an administrator role with them, and worked my way up through resourcer and key account manager to 360 consultant, all within corporate services. Along the way, I set up an HR and business support division in my previous company — a firm that had been known purely for finance recruitment — and that division grew into one the business now leads the market in.

Originally from Hartlepool, a small seaside town in the north east of England, I moved to Sydney in May 2026 — drawn to Australia for years, with plenty of family already here and the promise of a better quality of life. Associations, not-for-profits and government are all Cox Purtell specialties, and sectors I'm genuinely excited to focus on; after a decade recruiting across a wide range of industries, honing in on this space with real depth is exactly what I wanted next.

I take a properly consultative approach, which for me comes back to one thing: I genuinely care about the people on both sides of every brief. I love helping candidates find their dream roles, and I love making the process feel seamless and enjoyable for the clients I work with — and that, I think, is why Cox Purtell and I are such a good fit.

Outside of work, you'll usually find me exploring Sydney (and hoping to venture further into Australia as I get settled), catching a gig or a show, or enjoying long catch-ups with family and friends.
