Accounts Payable Officer – Mandarin Speaker
Sydney CBD | Full-Time | In-Office
$70,000 – $85,000 + Super

Cox Purtell is proud to partner with a well-established, globally connected organisation, recognised as a leading player in its field. With a solid presence in Australia and strong ties to China, the business is seeking a Mandarin-speaking Accounts Payable Officer to join their collaborative Finance team at their Sydney CBD office.

This role is perfect for someone with foundational experience in accounting or finance, who is ready to take on diverse responsibilities in a supportive and fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and maintain cost books in collaboration with internal departments.

  • Process invoices, contracts, and service agreements using the company’s payment systems.

  • Perform accurate data entry across accounting journals, ledgers, and financial records.

  • Manage bank reconciliations and support the month-end close process.

  • Oversee accounts payable/receivable, fixed asset management, and depreciation tracking.

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow reports.

  • Liaise with the China Head Office for reporting and transactional requirements.

  • Support internal and external audit processes by preparing and providing documentation.

  • Maintain the billing system and ensure financial data accuracy.

  • Prepare reports and financial summaries for management decision-making.

  • Collaborate with other departments to monitor budgets and report on actual vs. forecasted spending.

  • Assist with ad hoc finance-related tasks as needed.


Requirements:

  • Previous experience in an accounts payable or finance-related role.

  • Fluent/native Mandarin speaker – essential for communication with overseas stakeholders.

  • Full Australian working rights.

  • Flexibility with start times (e.g 10:00am starts to align with international communication).

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and within a team.

  • Proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel.
