Accounts Receivable Officer

A national tourism organisation is looking for an Accounts Receivable Officer to join their Sydney finance team. If you’re steady under pressure, good with numbers, and even better with people, you’ll fit right in.

You’ll support the Credit Manager and take ownership of a portfolio of accounts, keeping the debtor ledger healthy through timely collections, accurate reconciliations, and proactive follow-up. The role blends customer service with classic AR discipline - chasing payments, resolving billing issues, querying discrepancies, and making sure accounts stay within trading terms.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Managing allocated customer accounts, including statements and collections
• Investigating short payments and resolving queries with internal teams or clients
• Reconciling accounts, coding/posting receipts, and maintaining accurate records
• Monitoring overdue accounts and preparing reports as needed
• Processing credit applications and supporting month-end tasks

What you’ll bring:

• Around 12 months’ experience in Accounts Receivable
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
• Confident communication skills and a knack for building rapport
• Solid admin and organisational skills
• Experience in tourism or hospitality is a bonus, but not essential
