Application Support Engineer (.NET Pathway)
Sydney - Hybrid - $90k - $100k + Super

This Sydney-based role offers a genuine pathway into enterprise .NET engineering. You will investigate production issues across applications, APIs and databases, working alongside developers to diagnose root causes and resolve complex technical problems.

About the role

This role sits at the intersection of support and engineering. You will investigate complex technical issues within a SaaS platform, working across applications, APIs and databases while collaborating closely with engineering teams to drive problems through to resolution.

This role suits engineers who started their careers in application or technical support but want to deepen their engineering capability and move closer to software development.

What you will be doing

  • Investigating complex application issues from diagnosis through to resolution

  • Responding to internal technical support tickets and troubleshooting system behaviour

  • Analysing application logs and monitoring data to identify root causes

  • Querying production databases using SQL to understand issues and validate fixes

  • Replicating issues across environments to isolate bugs and unexpected behaviour

  • Working closely with engineering teams to triage and resolve issues

  • Supporting incident response processes and improving operational workflows

  • Creating runbooks, troubleshooting guides and internal knowledge documentation

What we are looking for

  • Computer Science degree or similar technical background

  • Around 3+ years supporting SaaS applications or production platforms

  • Strong SQL skills for investigation and data analysis

  • Solid understanding of .NET / C# applications and ability to read code

  • Scripting experience such as Python, Bash or PowerShell

  • Experience analysing logs or monitoring tools such as Datadog

  • Comfortable working closely with engineering teams

  • Full working rights in Australia

Important to know

This is not a helpdesk or end-user support role. The focus is on investigating issues within applications, APIs, databases and integrations, understanding how systems behave in production and working with engineers to resolve underlying problems.
