Business Development Executive
Sydney CBD - Hybrid
Salary: $90k + Super ($120k OTE)
Permanent, full-time
Are you a high-performing sales professional who wants more than just targets — someone who wants to make a real impact?
We are a leading professional membership organisation supporting accountants and bookkeepers, with a strong focus on improving outcomes for small business across Australia.
We’re now hiring a Business Development Executive to drive national membership growth — with a primary focus on NSW, our largest and most important market.

The Opportunity
This is not a cold-calling role.
You’ll be working with warm, inbound leads — professionals who already want to engage — and converting that interest into membership.
This role sits within a nationalised growth function, meaning while you are NSW-focused, you’ll also play a key role in onboarding members across the country.
You’ll be part of a collaborative national team (NSW, VIC, WA, QLD/Adelaide), supported by strong marketing activity, events, and lead generation.
If you’re a true sales operator who enjoys both relationship-building and closing - this is a high-opportunity role with genuine earning potential and career growth.

What You’ll Be Doing
Drive Membership Growth
- Convert warm inbound leads into new members (no cold calling).
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of opportunities.
- Achieve individual and national growth targets.
- Maintain a minimum 25% conversion rate and respond to leads within 24 hours.
- Re-engage lapsed members and drive reinstatements.
Own the End-to-End Member Journey
- Manage onboarding for new members nationally.
- Guide prospects through membership pathways, CPD, and certification programs.
- Support uptake of professional certification programs.
Engage, Present & Represent
- Attend and represent the organisation at events, expos, and industry engagements.
- Conduct face-to-face meetings and presentations.
- Build relationships with universities, students, and industry groups.
Work Your Strengths
This team is flexible — whether you:
- Thrive in face-to-face sales, or
- Excel in high-volume conversion and process-driven environments
…you’ll be set up to play to your strengths within a national structure.
________________________________________
What Makes This Role Different
- Warm leads only – no cold calling or aggressive sales tactics
- Strong market demand – membership is often a requirement, not a “nice to have”
- High conversion environment – a large portion of prospects are already motivated
- Flexible structure – balance of sales, relationship management, and process
- Real earning potential – commission structure includes:
- Monthly individual performance
- National team targets (half-yearly)

About You
You’re a proven sales performer who knows how to convert opportunity into results.
You might come from professional services, memberships, education, or another relationship-led sales environment - but what matters most is your ability to sell.
You’ll bring:
- 4+ years’ experience in sales or business development
- A strong track record of hitting or exceeding targets
- Confidence in face-to-face engagement and presentations
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong discipline, organisation, and follow-through
- A proactive, self-starting mindset
Experience in membership organisations is helpful - but not essential.
