Governance & Executive Officer (Part-Time)
Parramatta | 2–2.5 Days Per Week | On Campus
A growing, dynamic higher education provider based in Parramatta is seeking a Governance & Executive Officer to work closely with the CEO in a newly created role.
This organisation has strong growth goals, with governance and compliance at the centre of operations. As the organisation continues to expand, this role has been created to take ownership of the governance function and provide high-level executive support.
The Role
Working directly alongside the CEO, you will:
• Own and manage the governance function across formal committees
• Prepare agendas, board papers and meeting documentation
• Take professional minutes (formal governance standard)
• Track actions and manage annual governance calendars and timelines
• Draft and update organisational policies and registers
• Support higher education registration and regulatory compliance activities
• Prompt and support the CEO on key reporting and compliance deadlines
• Manage external stakeholder documentation and submissions
You will work proactively from an annual governance calendar, tracking key regulatory milestones and working backwards from deadlines to ensure timely approvals and submissions.
This is governance-level administration — structured, compliance-driven and detail-focused.
About You
You will bring:
• Experience within higher education governance or a regulated tertiary environment
• Exposure to regulatory frameworks and international student regulations
• Strong formal minute-taking experience
• Experience drafting policies, papers and committee documentation
• The ability to work autonomously with initiative
• Excellent organisation and deadline management skills
• High attention to detail and strong compliance awareness
You are proactive, structured, and comfortable prompting senior leadership when action is required. You enjoy owning a function and working independently within clear regulatory frameworks.
Working Pattern
• 2–2.5 days per week (0.4–0.5 FTE)
• On campus in Parramatta (across two office floors)
• Newly created role
• Ongoing position
• Salary circa $100,000 FTE (pro rata) + super
*Important:
You must be available Thursday evenings from 4:30pm–6:30pm (approximately 20 times per year) to support formal committee meetings. Some Friday availability is also required. The remaining working day(s) are flexible.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced governance professional seeking meaningful part-time work within a growing higher education provider where systems, compliance and structure matter.
For a confidential discussion, please contact Beatrice at with your CV and a brief summary of your governance experience.
