Finance Manager

$120k–$160k + super (depending on experience)

Cox Purtell is partnering exclusively with a well-established, privately owned commercial construction company with over 60 years of success. Known for their strong reputation and financial stability, this growing business is now seeking an experienced Finance Manager to play a key role within their team.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll take ownership of the finance function while leading a small, stable team.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee job costing and track project performance against budgets
• Partner with project teams to monitor contracts, compliance, and cost variances
• Manage budgets, forecasts, and cashflow
• Support and oversee accounts payable/receivable processes, including subcontractor payments
• Ensure data integrity within Jobpac and resolve complex coding/reconciliation issues
• Manage tax obligations (BAS, GST, FBT, payroll tax)
• Oversee timesheets, expenses, and financial controls
• Improve financial systems, processes, and reporting
• Lead, mentor, and support the accounts team
• Partner with the Financial Controller on reporting, insurance, and policy management

About You

• Proven experience as a Finance Manager or senior finance role
• Background in construction or project-based environments
• Strong financial reporting and analytical skills
• Experience with Jobpac or similar systems (highly desirable)
• Advanced Excel skills
• CPA/CA qualified (or working towards) preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and attention to detail
