Head of Sales/Key Account Manager
Full-time Permanent
Sydney CBD/Hybrid
$150,000 – $170,000 + super (depending on experience)
Cox Purtell is partnering with a well-established business to appoint a Head of Sales/Key Account Manager. This is a newly created role focused on revenue execution, sales discipline, and team leadership, with responsibility for a small team and management of key client relationships. They are an Australian business that operates broadly within the B2B Insurance industry. Experience from Insurance, Motor or Fleet management is highly desirable.
This position sits at the intersection of people leadership, strategic account management, and commercial performance. You will lead a small team of Account Managers while personally overseeing a key strategic account and helping shape the sales structure, performance cadence, and account management processes.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading, managing and developing a small team
- Driving revenue performance, owning weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales performance cadence
- Driving pipeline health, forecasting accuracy, and conversion rates, implementing sales scorecards and KPIs
- Improving win/loss analysis and performance tracking
Managing a key strategic account, leading complex negotiations, tenders, and renewals
- Driving revenue growth within priority accounts
- Managing multiple stakeholders within client organisations
Improving sales process
- Standardising account management methodology
- Embedding structured account planning
- Ensuring stakeholders within client organisations are effectively managed in CRM
What This Suits
- Experience in Fleet, Motor, or Insurance industries (or closely related)
- Proven people leadership experience
- Strong background in account management and client ownership
- Experience working across both large organisations and smaller businesses
- Comfort operating where not everything is fully defined
