Industrial Officer
Location: Flexible – Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane (Hybrid)
Salary: $110,000 – $120,000 + Super

Permanent, full-time

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Industrial Officer/Industrial Relations Consultant(or similar background) to join a collaborative team within a peak Industry Association, supporting professionals and contractors in a specialised industry. This role will see you providing expert advice and advocacy on industrial relations and workplace matters, while building strong networks with stakeholders across the sector.

In this stand-alone role, you’ll play a key role in enterprise bargaining, representing members in tribunals, developing workplace resources, and keeping abreast of the latest industrial and employment law developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advice and support on industrial and workplace relations matters.
  • Represent members in the Fair Work Commission and state-based tribunals.
  • Support and facilitate enterprise agreement negotiations.
  • Prepare submissions and monitor changes in IR and employment law.
  • Assist members with WHS and workers’ compensation matters.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and workplace resources.
  • Build and maintain relationships with employer and employee bodies.

About You
You are a strong communicator and problem-solver with excellent judgement and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. You’ll thrive in a role where no two days are the same and will bring:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and time management ability.
  • Sound judgement and a self-starting work ethic.
  • Experience in industrial relations, employment law, or related fields.
  • Advocacy and negotiation experience, ideally within a membership-based or not-for-profit organisation.
  • Comfortable leading the function in a standalone role
