About the client
Our client is a respected, member-based peak body in the financial services sector, based in Sydney. They advocate on behalf of their members, contribute to policy and support best practice across the industry, working with a range of government and industry stakeholders. As a small team, it's an organisation where your contribution is visible and there's real room to shape how things are done.
About the role
This is a senior, cross-functional role for an experienced operator who can work both strategically and hands-on. Working closely with the CEO and leadership team, you'll oversee operations, governance processes, budgeting, risk, HR and IT, making sure the organisation runs effectively, compliantly and sustainably. You'll have genuine scope to identify what could be done better, make recommendations to senior leaders and see change through. Offered on a permanent part-time basis, three days a week, it suits someone who wants senior-level impact with flexibility.
Duties
- Drive operational improvement across the organisation, identifying inefficiencies and leading projects from review through to implementation, starting with travel management and a review of IT support arrangements.
- Manage the board and committee cycle, including the annual meeting calendar, agendas, board papers, minutes and action follow-up, so the CEO and Board are well supported and informed.
- Lead the annual budget process with the CEO and external accountant, identifying cost efficiencies and strengthening financial controls and procurement practices.
- Maintain and strengthen governance, risk and compliance frameworks, including workplace policies, WHS requirements and risk reporting.
- Oversee IT and information security, including cybersecurity, records management and technology platforms, and manage outsourced providers through to tender where needed.
Requirements
- Significant experience in a senior operations or business management role spanning multiple functions, such as governance, finance, risk, HR and IT.
- A proven track record of identifying and driving process improvements and seeing them through to implementation.
- The judgement and confidence to make decisions independently and provide sound recommendations to senior leaders.
- Strong planning and project management skills, with the ability to move between strategic and hands-on work.
- A sound understanding of governance frameworks and regulatory compliance, with experience supporting a board or committees.
- Strong financial literacy, including budgeting and reporting.
How to apply
If you're an experienced operator ready to make a real impact at a senior level, we'd love to hear from you.
