$65.00 - $75.00 per hour + Super
Our client is a leading name in the renewable energy sector with a strong focus on operational excellence and capital works delivery. The organisation is known for its commercially disciplined approach to procurement and its collaborative, values-driven culture.
About the role
This is an opportunity to take ownership of end-to-end procurement activity across operational and capital works portfolios on a 6-month temporary assignment based in their Melbourne inner city office. You will partner with internal stakeholders to shape procurement strategy, run sourcing processes from RFQ through to contract execution, and negotiate commercial outcomes that deliver value for money while managing risk. It is a role for someone who enjoys variety, from strategic planning through to hands-on contract administration, and who wants to make a genuine commercial impact within a structured governance environment.
Duties
- Partner with internal stakeholders to develop fit-for-purpose procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Prepare and manage procurement documentation, including RFQs, RFPs, RFTs and EOIs, and coordinate end-to-end sourcing activities.
- Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers to achieve value-for-money outcomes while managing contractual and commercial risk.
- Administer contracts including variations, extensions, amendments and close-out activities, and monitor supplier performance against KPIs and service levels.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with governance frameworks and legislative requirements, maintaining accurate records to support audit.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Procurement, Supply Chain, Law or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in procurement, contract management or strategic sourcing.
- Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end procurement processes within a structured governance framework.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to assess contractual, financial and commercial risk.
- Experience administering contracts across operational services, professional services, capital works or infrastructure projects.
- Experience using procurement or ERP systems such as SAP, Ariba or Oracle highly regarded.
