About the role

You'll be a key player in a growing AI team, developing intelligent, cloud-based applications using JavaScript and Python. This is a hands-on role focused on delivering real-world AI solutions in a highly collaborative, impact-driven environment.

Duties:

• Develop scalable software platforms and applications using JavaScript and Python
• Lead R&D efforts aligned with the department’s AI strategy
• Analyse and improve existing systems for performance and uptime
• Execute full software development lifecycles following departmental standards
• Write clean, testable code and debug issues efficiently
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to code reviews
• Work closely with Product Managers, Delivery Managers, Data Scientists, and Developers

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years of experience in JavaScript and Python development
• Solid experience in AI applications, REST APIs, full-stack development, and databases
• Strong grasp of algorithms, object-oriented and functional programming principles
• Proven experience designing cloud-native applications for high throughput
• Test automation and scripting capabilities
• Exposure to Agile, rapid iteration environments
• Experience with AI/ML frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, NLP)
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, Node.js, Vue.js
• Understanding of the education sector’s tech challenges
• Start-up or innovation accelerator experience
• A collaborative and curious mindset, able to adapt to shifting priorities
