Senior Conference & Summit Officer
A leading national health association

Location: Open to candidates across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane or Canberra — fully remote or hybrid
Type: Permanent, full-time
Salary:$100,000 + superannuation

THE OPPORTUNITY

A respected national health association is looking for an experienced conference professional to lead delivery of their flagship triennial national conference - a 600–750 delegate, multi-day event in Sydney in August 2027. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role with significant internal and external stakeholder exposure, sitting within a close-knit, collaborative events team.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • End-to-end coordination of a national conference (600–750 delegates) and annual research summits including planning & budget.
  • Programme development — speaker sourcing, scheduling, and on-day coordination
  • Primary contact for venues, suppliers, and an external working group of senior professionals
  • Supporting the management of the conference Abstract Submission process in collaboration with a dedicated team member.
  • Coordinating and actively participating in an external working group/committee of senior professionals and academics - facilitating meetings and keeping the group on track.
  • Leading internal stakeholder communications across multiple teams and the executive.
  • Coordinating sponsor and exhibitor logistics in line with partnership agreements.
  • Delivery of additional 2–3 virtual summits per year, with broader team and event coordinator support.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of large-scale, multi-day corporate conferences - not just in a supporting capacity.
  • Strong in-person and hybrid event experience.
  • Confident stakeholder communicator - able to guide senior stakeholders with diplomacy.
  • Allied health or professional association background highly regarded, but not essential.

WHAT'S ON OFFER

  • Fully remote for candidates outside of the ACT, or hybrid for Canberra-based candidates.
  • Flexible working hours and a genuinely supportive team culture.
  • One additional 'headspace' day off every two months (six extra days per year).
