About the company
Join a fast-growing technology company at the forefront of Australia’s sustainability and clean energy sectors. With a small, high-performing team based in Sydney, they’re building the digital infrastructure powering national environmental registries and net zero initiatives. It’s an engineering-led culture where your ideas count, legacy systems are left behind, and purpose-driven work is the norm.
About the role
This newly created Software Quality Engineering Lead role offers the chance to shape QA strategy, lead a talented team, and drive quality across a platform that underpins environmental markets and climate regulation. You’ll oversee test automation across API and web layers and manage coordinated releases in a modern CI/CD pipeline. Greenfield projects, complex systems, and real-world impact await.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor QA Engineers in an agile delivery environment
- Build and maintain robust automated test frameworks
- Design and execute test plans for API, web, and backend systems
- Manage the release process across product streams and stakeholders
- Drive continuous quality improvements across tools and practices
About you
You’re a hands-on QA leader who loves solving real-world problems with code, process, and people. You bring technical depth, a collaborative mindset, and a strong sense of ownership. You’ve led testing efforts in complex environments, ideally fintech, SaaS, or regulated industries and know how to build scalable QA functions that enable fast, confident releases.
Essential criteria:
- 5+ years in QA with leadership or senior-level experience
- Skilled in automated testing tools (e.g. Selenium, Cypress, Playwright)
- Strong in web and API testing, including Postman or equivalent
- Proficient in Python, Java, or JavaScript
- Comfortable with Git, CI/CD, and cloud platforms (preferably AWS)
- Excellent communicator with a track record of cross-functional collaboration
