Major Projects Project Manager
Major Projects Project Manager (Temporary until December 2021).
Information regarding the position:
- Reports to the Major Projects Director
- Salary range $120K – $140K
- Start asap – End date December 2021
- Responsible for the implementation and administration of Major Projects and Capital works programs including review of building contracts, plans and specifications management
- Responsible for engagement of contractors and consultants pertaining to the projects.
Key accountabilities Within the area of responsibility, this role is required to:
Provide contract administration on contracts, and develop and deliver additional projects to achieve quality project outcomes and continuous improvement activities.
Conduct site inspections, and evaluate, review and audit contractor compliance to monitor that contracts, plans, designs and specifications deliver the required outcomes.
Provide project management advice in relation to Capital and Civil Works Program, including interpretation and advice on complex legislative and regulatory requirements.
Review, evaluate and audit quality assurance systems to ensure contractor compliance.
Investigate potential or actual public liability claims to prepare reports to inform decisionmaking.
Engage and consult with stakeholders to identify their requirements and use this information to enable organisational direction, strategy and action.
Promote the positive and collaborative culture and values of the organisation through open, fair and transparent decision-making and ethical, professional behaviour.
Work in collaboration with and assist the team, manager and other key stakeholders to achieve business unit goals, work requests, demands and BU’s priorities.
Identifying and resolving issues related to service delivery, administration, evaluation and continuous improvement of systems and processes.
Managing multi-disciplinary projects, and balancing community expectations with Council obligations and other government and stakeholder expectations, in a politically sensitive environment.
Delivering value for all stakeholders in an ethical, social and environmentally responsible manner.
Role Dimensions Decision Making
Autonomous role and is fully accountable for the delivery of initiatives, programs and projects, on time, within budget, whilst maintaining high quality deliverables and outcomes.
Accountable for implementing the decisions made by the governing body, General Manager and Directors of BU.
Guided by BU’s strategic plans, statutory guidelines and relevant legislation.
Degree in Project Management, Architecture, Diploma in Project Management or related qualification.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge across a number of functional areas within relevant field, including project management, procurement and contract management and building construction or civil engineering.
Current Driver’s Licence Class C.
